INTRODUCING a new and original English Language Teaching  activity – MUSICAL GRAMMAR PIECES –  containing short song lyrics extracts which students read and correct the grammar and collaborate in groups to reach a final decision about the correction. Made especially for TEACHING ENGLISH ONLINE WITH ZOOM features like BREAKOUT ROOMS, SCREEN-SHARING, CHAT BOX, etc.

DescriptionStudents read the lyrics extracts, correct them individually,  listen to the extracts to check, compare answers in small groups and decide on the final corrected version for a group competition

This activity focuses on verbs (simple present, simple future), relative pronouns (who and that), spelling (colors), noun/verb forms, irregular plural forms and comparatives.

USING SONGS TO TEACH ENGLISH: SINGING VERBS – Song Activity Idea (SPEAKING and READING Skills)

SINGING VERBS is an IDEA for an adaptable song activity along with a suggested step-by-step LESSON PLAN for English language teaching with ZOOM features like BREAKOUT ROOMS, SHARE FILE/AUDIO, WHITEBOARD, etc. but it’s also perfect for F2F.

Students speculate on the meaning of a song based on its title, read the lyrics and fill the gaps with the correct form of the verbs in parentheses and, finally, listen to the song to check their answers. The main focus is on SPEAKING & READING and students practice COLLABORATION, COMMUNICATION, CRITICAL THINKING, and CREATIVITY during this activity.

LYRICAL WORD CLOUD – a creative IDEA and step-by-step video LESSON PLAN for ELT!

LYRICAL WORD CLOUD is an idea for an adaptable song activity along with a suggested step-by-step LESSON PLAN for English language teaching.
It is based on a word cloud with a song lyrics, and students work in pairs to speculate and predict words in the lyrics based on the song title, giving reasons for their choices.
The main focus is on SPEAKING and students practice COLLABORATION, COMMUNICATION, CRITICAL THINKING, and CREATIVITY during this activity.
