How to Teach English with This ESL Song Lesson Plan:

Basic Instructions:

There are five song extracts in this activity. Each song extract has a slide for the students to read and prepare before they listen to the song to identify the missing words. Instruct students to write their answers down on a sheet of paper. It’s also a good idea to pause the video and have students read it. Clarify any doubts about the vocabulary. Then play it for the students twice or more. Have students check their answers in pairs, before playing once more and correcting the exercises. The answers are in the instructions.pdf.

Step 1 (5 min)

Play the first extract, pausing after the “read and prepare” slide. Help students with the vocabulary. Play the extract 2x or more, and have students write down their answers.

Step 2 (5 min)

Have students check their answers in pairs. Then, correct it by having students read the extract with their answers.

Step 3 (15 min)

Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other extracts.

The answers are in the instructions.pdf.
