I Know That Feeling. I’ve Been There.

Hi, I’m Márcia. Does this sound familiar? You’re on a mission, searching for the perfect song activity, but all you find is an endless sea of the same old, SOUL-LESS gap-fills.

I remember that ache in my teacher’s heart so clearly. I knew the incredible power of music was being wasted. I’d bring in a great song, one my students loved, but the lesson would just feel… FLAT. It was like holding a full-color painting in my hands but only being able to show my students a black-and-white sketch. I could see the disconnect in their eyes, and it was frustrating. I knew there had to be more.

So, I Created What I Couldn’t Find.

One day, I’d had enough. I put the textbooks aside, picked a song straight from my students’ world, and decided to build an entire experience around it—not just another worksheet.

The change was INSTANTANEOUS. The energy in the classroom completely shifted. Eyes lit up. Students who were usually quiet were suddenly participating, debating, laughing, and genuinely connecting with the language. It was like a light switch had been flipped.

On a whim, I shared that first lesson on my little blog. The messages I received from other teachers were simply incredible. “FINALLY, something that isn’t a gap-fill!” one wrote. “My students actually asked for MORE!” said another. I realized I wasn’t alone. We were all searching for that same spark, that same magic.

Discovering the Method Behind the Magic

The more lessons I created, the more I saw patterns. It wasn’t random. I realized that music wasn’t just a “break” from learning; it was the heartbeat of it. I discovered a way to take the “noise” of pop culture and transmute it into the GOLD of deep, structured learning.

That system became the MUSIC+ Framework (Motivation, Understanding, Skills, Interaction, Creativity). It is the engine behind the BEAT+ Method. And in 2025, it evolved again into Pop CLIL—proving we can use songs to teach not just English, but Science, History, and the World.

My Mission is to Share This With You.

After more than 30 years of teaching, my passion now is to guide educators like you to become the Alchemists of your own classrooms. I created the Song Activity Factory to be your laboratory—a place where you get the tools, the system, and the confidence to turn “fun” into “academic rigor” without the burnout.
