Why Use Interactive Quizzes to Teach English with Music?
I love a good gap-fill, I really do. But let’s be honest, sometimes you need to shake things up, right? You need to change the energy in the room. That’s where these interactive quizzes come in. They’re not just a tool; they transform the whole vibe from passive listening to ACTIVE learning. It’s the very heart of the MUSIC+ Framework.
Students get that instant feedback, and suddenly it’s a game. It’s low-stakes. And they love it.
- Boosts Student Engagement: Think about it. The word ‘quiz’ can make students freeze up. But a ‘music quiz’? That’s a whole different story. That’s a challenge. That’s FUN. It’s incredible to watch even the quietest students light up and want to participate. It just works.
- Provides Contextual Learning: This is the magic part. Grammar isn’t just some abstract rule in a book anymore. Inside a song, it’s ALIVE. It’s part of a story. Students finally see it in action, in a context that makes sense to them. And because they feel it, they remember it. It’s that simple.
- Saves You Time: And for us teachers? Our time is EVERYTHING. I know how busy you are. That’s why each quiz links to a full, ready-to-use lesson plan. It’s all about cutting down your prep time so you can put your energy where it matters most: with your students.
- Integrates Technology: If you think you’re not “techy,” this is for you. These quizzes are SO simple to use. Seriously. It’s an easy, effective way to bring a little technology into your class without any stress. No steep learning curve here, I promise. Just click and play.

Hello,
I find your activities really interesting, but is it possible to receive emails about younger students? I teach ESL at primary level, with 12-year-olds.
The emails I receive are for teen and adult and therefore not at the level for my students.
I’m always disappointed when I can’t use them.
Perhaps you don’t have material for this age group, in which case I’ll unsubscribe.
Thank you
